SDC Software Engineer

For our ongoing Science Data Centre (SDC) development, we are seeking a software engineer to strengthen Team Rainbow, one of our highly esteemed scrum teams. At the SDC, we strive to maximize the scientific impact of our world-leading instrumentation portfolio.

Our team offers software, tools, and infrastructure to empower scientific breakthroughs and fuel scientific collaboration with the astronomical community and (inter)national partners. As a dedicated and passionate software engineer, you will contribute to developing the SDC within a dynamic team environment.

We need software engineers who help us:

- Improve our continuous integration and delivery environment through GitLab pipelines.
- Improve our infrastructure through infrastructure tooling and/ or IaC.
- Apply principles from DevOps, like collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement.


Calling all talented software engineers who:

- Know Python (Django experience is a bonus).
- Know JavaScript front-end development (ReactJS experience is a bonus).
- Know Docker.
- Like working full-stack and being part of a scrum team.

The job applications for this position would likely be open in the autumn period this year and we expect to hire one person for the position.
