System integration

Within the Innovation & Systems department we have the System Design & Integration (SD&I)-group. SD&I works on the translation of astronomical requirements into technical requirements. This is important in developing modern, advanced telescopes.

When we develop new techniques, SD&I will integrate and verify these on different levels in the system. SD&I will test the new system on both astronomical and technical demands. During the testing of such a new system there is a lot of interaction between the SD&I group en designers of other departments.

The SD&I group consists of researchers, postdocs, instruments engineers, and commissioning engineers.
