Human Resource Management (HRM)

The Human Resource Management department has several responsibilities. The department is responsible for  our HRM-policy and the implementation hereof. Besides the department gives advice and support to supervisors and employees on diverse HRM-instruments, HRM-policy and other HRM matters. You can think of the following:

  • Recruitment
  • Appraisal and remuneration
  • Training and development
  • Absenteeism
  • Working conditions

Current themes are workforce planning and leadership development. The department employs HRM consultants and (administrative) HRM staff.

PR & Communications

The PR & Communications department is responsible for all of our communications and activities both internally and externally.

The work of PR & Communications is diverse. These include:

  • Developing and implementing internal and external communication
  • Public Information
  • Development of communication
  • Social media management
  • Content management for websites and the intranet
  • Communication with the press and media
  • Communication Advice

Our international character makes our communication in both Dutch and English.

Director of ASTRON

ASTRON is in search of a Director with a clear strategic vision for radio astronomy within the broader astrophysical landscape. The Director has overall scientific, strategic, and operational responsibility for the institute, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and inspiring work environment. Supported by a dedicated management team, the Director will also represents ASTRON nationally and internationally through the SKA, LOFAR ERIC, JIVE ERIC, and the National Council for Astronomy.
